THIS WEEK:
          This week our focus is Dr. Seuss and Read Across America as we lead up to Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 2^nd.  We will have a lot of fun as we dive into some of these silly books.  We will read many books including The Cat in the Hat, Ten Apples Up on Top, Fox in Socks, Wacky Wednesday, and Green Eggs and Ham.  Our high-frequency words this week are: fly, fast, goes, try, through, and why.  We will also work on substituting initial phonemes, long o: oa, ow, and three-letter blends.  In Math, we will be working on finding 10 more or 10 less without having to count.  Math fact test on Friday will be subtracting 4.

REMINDERS:

• Send in your Box Tops!!!  
• Last day to order a yearbook is Friday, March 4^th!  Cost is $26 to Yates Primary.

READ ACROSS AMERICA

• I love pajama day!  Channel 3’s Jed Mescon also came to read to all of 1^st grade.
• Tomorrow is Crazy Hair or Hat Day!
• Wednesday is Wacky Wednesday!
• Thursday is Silly Sock Day!
• Friday is our Dr. Seuss Parade – dress as a character in your favorite book and bring the book to share.  Also, don’t forget our Read-In from 2:15-2:45!
